Every kitchen needs a saucepan and this enamel version is in a form that everyone in Austria is familiar with. Thanks to the practical spout and long handle, liquids such as milk, water, soup and sauces can be served easily without a drop being spilt.  The saucepan is a much-loved helper in the kitchen and can even also be used as a milk pan.

The rim is curved – known as a rolled rim in enamel terms – and is created by bending the metal during the manufacturing process to form a rounded and stable rim. The handle is made from enamel and has a hole so that the pan can be hung up in the kitchen as decoration and is always within arms reach.

Enamel is made from iron fused with glass at high temperatures.  Riess enamel products are suitable for use with all types of cookers (gas, electric, ceramic, induction and even open flame). Thanks to its iron core, the enamel conducts heat in the blink of an eye and retains it for a long time, ensuring energy-efficient cooking. The non-porous, smooth, glass surface guarantees perfect hygiene. Enamel cookware is also recommended for people with nickel allergies.

When used and cared for properly, enamelware can provide years of enjoyment.  Please note:

  • If you drop or hit enamelware with something it won’t break but may chip.
  • If the outer porcelain layer does chip, the steel beneath naturally oxidises and the enamelware remains safe to use.
  • Never heat enamelware without contents as this may cause the base to warp.
  • Always choose a hob on a stove top with the most suitable diameter that is not too small.
  • Always heat up gradually, turn it up slowly and then reduce the heat again. Do not use the boost function on induction stoves.
  • Sudden changes in temperature, such as soaking in water after heating may cause cracks or breakage.
  • It is recommended to clean enamelware by hand. For tougher stains soak bicarbonate soda or lemon juice on the stain for half an hour and wash as normal.
  • Avoid using harsh cleaning products or aids such as steel wool or scourers as these can scratch the surface.
