The genius progeny of a trowel, knife and saw, the Hori Hori (rough literal translation being dig-dig, though it is called by many names) is one of the most versatile and useful gardening tools you can use.

With the bladed sides and silhouette, this tool generally falls into the category of being a "gardening knife", though this simple term doesn't do it justice.  One side of the blade is sharpened and can be used for any outdoor task that would normally have you reaching for a knife - slicing small weeds, cutting twine and the odd bit of harvesting.  However, the second side is heavily serrated and allows the knife to act as a saw when tougher roots are encountered.  The point allows the gardener to loosen tough soils and clay.

The blade is also scalloped, giving it the shape of a trowel. This allows it to be used as an excavating tool while planting seedlings, and the dual centimetres/inches increments on the reverse allow easy judgement of the depth of holes when planting seeds and seedlings, or for easy spacing of plants.

This lovely little tool has been made with longevity in mind, with a comfortable wooden handle and stainless steel blade.  It is recommended to wipe down with a light oil or saw cleaner after use for maximum life.  The edge can be honed with a whetstone or diamond file.

Dimensions:  length 32cm, blade 18.5cm x 4cm
