Perhaps this is how we know we want to stock a maker—we first came across over 100-year-old pieces of Manufacture de Digoin on antique buying trips through France, long before we knew the maker's name. Lidded stoneware jars now sit beside the stove as salt pots, generous bowls become mixing or fruit bowls, and sturdy jugs are filled with flowers. When we eventually discovered the story behind the maker, it felt only natural to bring Manufacture de Digoin to Miss Arthur, so these timeless pieces can begin another hundred years of everyday use.

Founded in 1875 in Burgundy's renowned "Ceramic Valley", Manufacture de Digoin has been crafting French stoneware for nearly 150 years. Each piece is hand-shaped and finished using natural French clay before being fired at exceptionally high temperatures for strength, durability and everyday practicality. Honest, enduring and quietly beautiful, these are objects made to be used, loved and passed from one generation to the next.
