Collection: Waverley Mills

It's always special when we come across vintage Waverley Mills blankets for our antique store. We have long known the quality of this brand and that is why we consider ourselves very privileged to stock this beautiful brand  in our homewares store. Not only is it made right here in Tasmania, but it’s also the last remaining historic woollen mill of its kind in Australia. To us these are heirloom objects of the future.

Established in 1874 on the banks of Distillery Creek in Launceston, Waverley Mills was a pioneer of Australian textile manufacturing and today is the last woollen mill in the country still operating from raw wool to finished product. Using premium local Tasmanian wool and from the mainland, the mill still weaves its blankets and throws using traditional techniques and machinery. Natural, renewable pieces made to be treasured, then passed down.
