Yahae

Founded in 2020, Yahae is named in honour of “Yahei,” the founder of Yamaya Co., Ltd., a historic cotton business based in Koryo, Nara. Nestled in the Yamato Basin—an area celebrated for its rich textile heritage dating back to the Edo and Meiji periods—Koryo has earned the nickname “Town of Socks” as Japan’s leading sock manufacturing hub. Though the industry has evolved, sock-making remains the heart of the town’s craft and identity.
