Collection: Riess

Riess has been with us since the beginning. Coming from a background in antiques, we've seen enamelware pots, strainers and baking dishes pass through our shop for years—a testament to just how long-lasting and well loved they are. We wanted to offer enamelware of exceptional quality: pure to cook with, beautifully made and simple in its utilitarian style.

Enamelware has always been part of our family memories. Mum's large black enamel pot still comes out every Christmas for the pudding, and has cooked countless meals over the years, from pasta for big family gatherings to everyday dinners. The baking dishes have seen decades of Sunday roasts, while the little saucepan was once used to warm milk for Milo after school. These are the kinds of objects that quietly become part of family life.

Riess traces its roots to a pan smithy founded in Ybbsitz, Austria, in 1550, with the family specialising in enamelware since 1922. Now run by the ninth generation, Riess still handcrafts its cookware in Austria using a traditional multi-step enamelling process, creating pots, pans and bakeware that are non-reactive, food-safe and built to be used, repaired and loved for generations.
